UnreliableReview date: 2010-07-31 Rating: 2 out of 10Very simply, these headphones are unreliable. My first pair went wrong after 10 months - the noise reduction went in one ear, making them completely unlistenable, and then the replacements simply stopped working after 6 months - no sound at all, with/without noise reduction.
Having said that, when they were working they were fantastic headphones. Great sound, reasonable noise reduction (I commute on the train and tube, including a walk along a busy London street, and they did a terrific job) and very comfortable.
But all that's completely useless when they break..... If you take the chance on these, I hope you have a better experience than I did!

Sennheiser PXC300 Noise reduction headphonesReview date: 2010-04-23 Rating: 10 out of 10Excellent product and lives up to what is said about them...did notice that audio books seem to be slightly swamped out by the noise technology. Easy to use and very good value.Jon StatonReview date: 2010-03-22 Rating: 8 out of 10Sound from my Ipod source was good, although when noise reduction was switched on, there was a tiny buzz which was audible during very quiet bits of music when you were listening in a quiet room. The separate noise reduction device is a bit of a pain as it keeps falling off your knee or wherever you put it in the confines of a plane or train. Because of the separate unit, the headphones are light and very comfortable. Build quality is good. Sound reduction is quite good and allows you to drop the volume and still hear the music, saving your ears from too many damaging decibels. In summary they are good value for money and I would recommend them for a plane or train or back of a car but not if you intend to go walking or jogging. I think you would have to spend a lot of money to get better sound quality.ExcellentReview date: 2010-03-06 Rating: 8 out of 10Excellent product and work really well. Only minus is the bulkiness of the noise cancelling unit. Overall though, very pleased.Light, compact very effective against engine noiseReview date: 2010-02-21 Rating: 10 out of 10I bought these after watching side by side tests on You Tube. Sennheisers always seem to perform better than competitors.
I have found them excellent. On long haul flights from UK to the Pacific they cut down the engine noise to an amazing extent - pretty much totally. As a guide, I had the plane entertainment system and my iPod on at about 50% volume and could hear clearly.
Pro's:
- Compact on your head
- Compact in their case, fold away very small in your hand luggage
- Very effective noise cancellation on the LOWER frequencies
- Very good sound quality
Con's:
- The battery tube / control is a total nuisance. Fine if you clip on your belt - otherwise catches and gets in the way.
