Poor quality sound, after 18 months stopped working

After buying this product in February 2008, I was initally reasonably impressed.
The FM radio was poor and sometimes the DAB didn't pick up well using the quite flimsy arial, however on the whole it played Ipod tunes, handled the Aux input and played the main DAB stations I wanted to listen too. We were happy together.
In recent months I am saddened to report that our relationship has soured - the device cuts out / turns off when used with the Ipod Touch / Iphone 3GS. This, though frustrating could be overcome by a bit of fiddling with the modes and some gentle persuasion.
Now though, the device has taken to cutting out mid songs, and during DAB and presently is refusing to play anything at all - and just producing a loud hum from the moment power is supplied. No amount of talking to it seems to work.
I can see now from the other reviews that I am not alone, others too have been taken in by the cost effective charms of the Ipod / DAB / Aux / Remote control combo so alluringly offered, however don't be tricked by this charlatan and stick with the better known brands.
I am attempting to contact the manufacturer for some assistance (presently their number is continually engaged) - given the extent of these issues I think a product recall should be offered and Amazon should stop stocking this device.

Unfortunately, stopped working a few weeks ago. No sound. Contacted the customer service center/technical support. They asked us to reboot/reset to factory setting. That did not work. Without too much additional hassle, we were asked to ship back with purchase details and that they would replace thereof, which they promptly did. Gave us the impression that they stood by their products. Probably a good student unit, but not one for the house/home at that rate. Sounds great when it does work though.
