Freezing dependent on area

I was given this digital radio (Pure One Classic, Black) in Dec 2009 along with the battery pack. Unfortunately everytime I used it (on a DAB or FM station), it froze, meaning that there was no sound and the screen froze. The only way to re-set it was to switch it off at plug, or if the battery pack is in, take the battery pack out (very fiddly). This is very frustrating as it can happen several times every hour.
I gave the radio back to my dad who seemed to think he'd fixed the problem because he had it working at his house. I took it back but the same thing was happening.
My solution? Well, my dad had one of the wooden Pure radios so we swapped the two over and they work fine at their new respective homes now. The Pure One hasn't frozen since it's been at it's new home.
It would appear that the cause must have something to do with the area signal (?) where I live that affects this model but not the one I have now. The one I have now is the Pure Evoke-2 XT.
If you're not sure about the signal reliability in your area, I suggest buying one of the larger models such as the Evoke-2 as this has not frozen anywhere....yet.

One tiny problem - I originally thought the volume knob would let you keep direct control, i.e. the volume directly relates to the amount that you turn, but it is actually incremental. It did in a certain area but six feet a way was less successful.
However i took the plunge and bought the One classic and i have to say it sounds great but looks even better in black! Top radio for the kitchen which is what i bought it for!
